Acronis enters 2012 with 25,000 partners worldwide

Vendor seeks to partner with more virtualization resellers

SYDNEY, 12 January, 2012 – Acronis, a leading provider of easy-to-use disaster recovery and data protection solutions for physical, virtual and cloud environments, today announced that it has added 3,000 new partners in the last six months of 2011, following the introduction of its new Global Partner Program, bringing its worldwide total to over 25,000 partners.

The increase in the number of registered channel partners has been partly attributed to the introduction of the new Global Partner Program which significantly improves the tools, assets and support available to Acronis partners. It is a multi-tier progression-based program offering financial benefits, expanded use of support tools, special pricing, technical training and marketing collateral.

Acronis has also recently introduced two new products to enable channel partners to provide solutions for backup and disaster recovery for the growing number of SMBs wishing to move their infrastructure to a virtual environment. Acronis Backup & Recovery® 11 Virtual Edition provides integrated data protection and disaster recovery to IT administrators with an infrastructure including physical, virtual and cloud platforms, and Acronis® vmProtect™ 6, which provides backup and recovery for VMware™ vSphere® environments. Independent tests show Acronis vmProtect to be three times faster than the leading competitor to install and start to backup VMware vSphere virtual servers.

Acronis is focused on recruiting virtualization specific partners to match its product set which enables simple and fast backup. By registering on the Acronis partner portal and becoming an Acronis Authorised partner, resellers are entitled to certain benefits, such as receiving a free Acronis vmProtect 6 NFR covering 4 CPUs.
